6 Months Old

I'm so bad that I'm just now posting this but it has been crazy this past month or so. But anyways, Hayden turned 6 months old on July 9th and he amazes me each and every day. I took him for his 6 mnth check up last Monday. He weighed 15.2 lbs and was 26 inches long. Dr. Baldwin said that he had great muscle mass.
Hayden is constantly learning new stuff. He is getting better at sitting up on his own and he still hasn't quite gotten the coordination to crawl but it's just a matter of time. He is so energetic. I'm sure if he could run right now he'd be doing it. He is so interested in the world around him so when we go somewhere new he has to check everything out. Carey and I love him so much and are so blessed to have this wonderful, precious baby boy in our lives.
In his swing with his Eddie Munster hair as Carey calls it.

The family at Cracker Barrel. He got to sit in his own high chair and he was so excited. We had to push everything away from the table b/c he grabs at anything he can get his hands on.

4th of July Weekend

We had an awesome 4th weekend. We took Hayden swimming for the very first time Friday afternoon with Kayla and Corey over at Mr. Paul and Mrs. Dennie Goldman's. Thanks soooo much Goldman's we had a blast. Hayden is a little water bug. He has always loved bath time so I thought he would really like swimming. Well momma was right, he absolutely loved it. Daddy and I pushed him around the pool in his little float and every once in a while he would make his motor sounds which was hilarious. Saturday morning we got up and got all ready to go to the 4th of July parade. Hayden liked it for the most part. He really got excited when he saw the horses. He really seems to like animals. After the parade we headed down to Grandmother and Papa Ray's to get cooled off and visit awhile. We got to spend time with Granny at Nanny and Papa's and she and Hayden had a ball. The rest of our weekend was pretty laid back. Which was great and much needed.
This is his 1st picture in the water!!!

Doing his motor.

Having fun w/ Daddy.

1st really cute picture!!!

2nd really cute picture!!!

Hayden will put anything in his mouth right now especially when his gums hurt and blankets are his favorite.

Sittin on the watermelon.

Hayden is trying his absolute best to crawl. He can get up on all fours and rock back and forth which is the cutest thing. He just hasn't quite got the whole hand/leg coordination down but it's only a matter of time before he does.

But he can do the inch worm crawl. LOL.

Taking a break with Paw Rick.

Hayden loves to spend time with his Paw Rick.

Yesterday Hayden took his very 1st step (with assistance). He has been standing up for a while now. We only have to help balance him. He thinks he is a cool cat now that he has taken some steps. I took him by to see Papa Ray and we showed him Hayden's new ability and Papa Ray was very proud of him as well as momma and daddy. He will be 6 months this Thursday and I just can't believe it. Time is flying by.

Father's Day

We had a great father's day. Hayden and I made Daddy breakfast (Hayden supervised) and Hayden even handed Daddy his card all by his self. Late yesterday afternoon we went over to check on Gran b/c she hasn't seen Hayden since Thursday due to her injection and Paw Rick gave Hayden a little piano lesson. Hayden loves music and he really enjoyed it.

Daddy and Hayden after church. Bless his heart he was sooooo hot.

Taking a nap at Nanny's after church.

We hope he is musical like Paw Rick and Nanny. He loves to hear music so I guess that is a start.

Playing Jerry Lee style.

Getting his piano lesson from Paw Rick.

(These last 3 pictures are from my phone so they are not the best but still sooooo cute.)

5 Months Old

Hayden Bruce was 5 months old last Tuesday, sorry it has taken me sooo long to do this post but we've been busy. Hayden has almost eaten all of the 1st stage baby food vegetables. He is like his daddy, he'll eat just about anything, mom is a little more picky. He has tried and now loves bananas. He is sooooo active, he is a little ball of energy. He loves to kick his legs and fling his arms every which way he can. He is also a little chatter box. He has started saying "da" now and it is soooo cute and of course daddy loves it. In the mornings when he and daddy are playing he will say something that sounds like "hey da".

We are practicing sitting up by him self. He is doing pretty good I think. He is also teething and his little gums are irritating him sooo bad. We are using the teething tablets and those help some but he will put anything in his mouth right now, especially mommy's jewelry.

Daddy and Hayden chillin in the recliner.

Attacking the monkey.

I sat him up in his bed Tuesday morning to make his 5 mnth pictures and he had such a good time if you can't tell. He stayed up by him self for a while.

He is eating bananas and he loves them. He has gotten a lot better at eating out of a spoon but we still have to keep his hands out of his mouth.

This is one of my favorite pictures of him. I was off work last Wednesday and Hayden and I went walking at the park that morning. I got him ready and set him in his Bumbo seat while I finished getting ready and he just looked so cute I had to snap a picture. I love the face.

Just a Lazy Memorial Weekend

We had a pretty lazy memorial weekend. Nanny was feeling better and bought Hayden an exersaucer, which he loves and we just cooked out for the family Monday. Hayden is a fast learner and he has figured out how to work some of his toys on his exersaucer. We are so proud of him. He has really gotten in to watching cartoons too. He is so fun to watch when he looks up at the TV with such concentration and tries to talk to it. Here are some cute pictures of our little guy.

Hayden and Daddy in the bed playing Saturday morning.

Hayden watching the Fox and the Hound in his exersaucer. He really liked the movie.

Mmmm Sweet Tatoes

Hayden has started eating baby food. Our first vegetable is sweet potatoes, which by the way he loves. At his last dr. appt. his dr. told me that I could start to introduce Hayden to baby food, so mom went a little nuts and bought several vegetables and a few fruits for him to try until I was informed that he needed to just try one for 1 to 2 weeks to make sure he didn't have an allergy to something. So this past Sunday we started with sweet potatoes and either next week or the next we will try squash. Mmmmm!!!

Mom wasn't going fast enough so he thought he would just wipe what was around his mouth and on his hands and put that in his mouth.

He had a little left on his finger. He didn't want to waste any. LOL!!!

Hayden Update

Like I said in the last post, Hayden turned 4 months old this past Saturday. His 4 month check-up was Monday and we got another great report. He is now 24 inches long and weighs 13.25 lbs. Dr. Baldwin said we had a beautiful, healthy little boy. He is in the 25th percentile in height and weight which is great. He got his next round of shots which hurt Momma a lot more than him. Carey couldn't leave work to be with us so Paw Rick came for emotional support for Momma. I started crying before Dr. Baldwin ever got in the room. LOL. Hayden cried but only for a minute or two. He had quit crying by the time I got his stuff all packed to head to check out. He is such a brave and strong little guy which he gets from his Daddy. He did fine that afternoon and yesterday as well.

Last week was Senior Follies and Carey and I got to watch Kayla and Holly perform. Both of them did great!!! They were both in the Yellow Submarine skit, which was hilarious. I was upset my Mother's Day gift (my new video camera) hadn't came in b/c I really wanted to record them. I was able to get a couple of pictures but they are not the best. Kayla also sang "The Climb" by Miley Cyrus but I must say Kayla's version was much better than Miley's. She brought tears to my eyes. I was so stinkin proud of her. She is soooo talented and I love her more like a little sister than my cousin. Hayden loves her too.

Here are some pictures from last week:

Hayden at work w/ Momma one afternoon. We were not real busy so I turned Veggie Tales on the computer for him. He really seemed to like it.

Carey and I had a couples night out Friday night w/ our Sunday School class. We went out to eat and then went bowling. We had such a good time. We really have a great group of friends w/ our Sunday School class.

Hayden's friend Holly kept him Friday night while Momma and Daddy had their date. When we got home Hayden was fast asleep in Holly's arms. He was out but still looked soooo sweet.
